George Strout{I352} (b. ABT 1689, d. AFT 22 OCT 1782)
Note: Capt. George Strout came about 1737 to Cape Elizabeth, now South Portland and settled on the south side of Long Creek and is fifth lot west from the point, (Long creek is a body of water that flows up by the Boy's School also at back of Calvary Cemetery at Cash Corner). He is probably buried at Skillings Burying Ground, Long Creek, South Portland. He lived to over 90 years of age and on October 22, 1782 he bid off at auction, a piece of land "at or near the brook that runs into Barberry Creek which was sold for taxes and on the same day made it over to his son George". Capt George Strout, Gentlemen, sold land to his son Eleazer Strout, adjoining land of his son Elisha and land of his son George, February 15, 1754. Capt. George Strout was mentioned in Cape Elizabeth records as late as March 1788.

Christopher Strout{I363} (b. ABT 1656, d. ABT 1715)
Note: Christopher Strout, born probably Cornwall, England before 1660, was at Truro, Massachusetts after Oct. 26, 1712, died 1715. Tradition states that he ship-wrecked in this country and stayed. He settled in that part of Eastham, Mass. which was later set off as Truro. He was in the fishing business and some of his sons were known as whale fishermen. Sarah Pick petitioned the Barnstable Probate Court July 9, 1714 for administration of his estate and married (2) before October, 1716, Joseph Collins of Eastham. "Barnstable Probate Court Record" dated October 25, 1716, Sarah Collins late Sarah Strought late of Cape Cod deceased and now wife of Joseph Collins of Eastham. The immigrant came from England.
